Eurocopter Germany is successfully deploying TreeVision - a software for visualising and analysing complex Document Type Definitions (DTDs) used in aerospace industry. The software was developed by Ovidius and allows the visualisation of XML and SGML DTDs and provides a feature for exporting entire DTDs as a tree.

Eurocopter Germany has been using TreeVision for six months deploying it primarily as a tool for analysing the complex DTDs used for technical documentation in the aerospace industry. Eurocopter is leader in military and civil helicopters and uses the ASA/AIA S1000D and ATA iSpec 100 and 2200 standards for content creation.

"When we finally came across TreeVision we realised that this was exactly the tool we needed for analysing and visualising different DTDs" says Walter Watzl, head of Technical Support Services at Eurocopter. "TreeVision helps us with our day-to-day work and permits us to easily handle specifications while easing development and system maintenance of our technical documentation. Together with DTDHelp and MetaMorphosis Ovidius provides us with a comprehensive and powerful set of tools for handling XML and SGML data, which we use for documentation and data exchange or in configuration files".

TreeVision is an especially user-friendly software, which provides a feature for zooming into the DTD structure and navigation in the tree. For every selected node TreeVision displays the complete path, thus enabling a comprehensive analysis of the DTD. The search functions included in TreeVision are unparalleled by any other software and allow searching for elements and attributes, which make up the DTD structure.
