TCToolbox by Ovidius wins Projektron as a new customer
Content creation made easier, faster and cheaper with the Ovidius XML-based Content Management System

Projektron GmbH in Berlin now uses the XML-based Content Management System TCToolbox by Ovidius to create software documentation and training material. TCToolbox enables technical writers and graphic designers to work simultaneously on complex technical documentation. To edit the content of the different XML chunks the XML experts from Ovidius built an integration of the XML editor XMetaL into the Conten Management System. Projektron uses TCToolbox and XMetaL to create technical documentation in various languages and output formats while at the same time reducing costs.

TCToolbox optimises content creation and publishing processes. The Content Management System is based on XML (Extensible Markup Language) and splits content into modules which are managed by the system. TCToolbox enables technical writers, graphic designers and translators to work simultaneously on complex technical documentation. TCToolbox also guarantees long-term document security by using the native data format XML instead of proprietary formats such as Word. The system also reduces the risk of "vendor lock-in" for the technical documentation department. XMetaL is used for the creation and modification of XML documents as a plug-in to TCToolbox .

"With TCToolbox we can easily create documentation and training material for the customers of our browser-based project management software Projektron BCS in the required languages and output formats" says Maik Dorl, Managing Director at Projektron, to stress the benefits obtained by TCToolbox. Mr. Dorl describes the next step is... "To further accelerate and streamline the content creation process we will also use the Translation Memory System from across"

across can be easily integrated into TCToolbox. The connector "crossTCT" by Ovidius triggers the translation process in TCToolbox, creates a translation project in the Translation Memory System and imports the translated documents back into TCToolbox. Through the integration of the Content Managment System and Translation Memory System time savings of up to 40 per cent for operating manuals can be achieved.
