Due to the worldwide interest in crossAuthor solutions, across systems has assumed full responsibility for the development and marketing of crossAuthor for XMetaL from Ovidius. From 1st January 2008 across assumed responsibility for the entire rollout of this product.

By mutual agreement with across systems, Ovidius has ceased development of the crossAuthor for XMetaL plugins and has passed over the software resources and all research results to across.

Ovidius will still remain your main contact. As long-time partner and system integrator we cooperate closely with across and are committed to providing our customers with excellent solutions.

across will present the whole range of plugins (for XMetaL, FrameMaker, and Microsoft Word) at this year's CeBIT. "Maximum efficiency for the creation of multilingual content starts with the source text", explains Andreas Dürr, Marketing Director of across systems. "For example, if the source text uses 20 different renderings for 10 technical terms – e.g., "hard drive" in one text and "hard disk" in another – translations into 10 languages would result in 200 target-language terms instead of the needed 100 terms. By using crossAuthor, companies can eliminate superfluous translation workload from the outset, thereby achieving substantial cost savings."
