Just Systems have announced the latest version of XMetaL (version 5.1). By merging the former stand-alone editions XMetaL Author, XMetaL Author DITA Edition and XMetaL Author Enterprise Edition into one tool XMetaL Author now offers extended functionality. From version 5.1 on XMetaL Author will only be available as Enterprise Edition.

XMetaL Author Enterprise Edition 5.1 comprises the standard XML authoring environment as well as integrated DITA support and enhanced publishing with RenderX FO.

New features of XMetaL 5.1:

• Enhanced PDF output (XMetaL Enhanced PDF) via RenderX (included) or AntennaHouse XSL Formatter.

• Improved graphic support. Vector-based EPS can now be output as PDF (Acrobat Distiller needed).

• New support for Citrix Server
