02.09.09, Rapid creation of Multilingual Documentation - Ovidius presents TCToolbox featuring optimised translation management

Berlin-based Ovidius GmbH presents the current release (5.9) of the XML-based TCToolbox content management system at the DMS Expo in Cologne, taking place from September 15th to 17th (Hall 7.1, Stand C028). This efficient tool allows technical editors to process a complete documentation for the media and to publish it in various formats and languages. New translation management functionalities simplify and speed up the creation of multilingual documentation. Another highlight of Version 5.9 is the new  publication server with its extended range of functions.

TCToolbox allows you to manage all of the editorial processes, starting with modular source text creation right up to quality-assured translations. Open interfaces permit the integration of any translation memory system and guarantee efficient translation support. The new release promotes close cooperation between editors and translation service providers to an even greater extent: translators no longer work with individual XML files taken out of context, but instead with a document showing the sections to be translated in the correct order (Merge functionality). Also, translators can create special publications (Help or PDF) that show the modules to be translated within their specific context. In addition, TCToolbox 5.9 simplifies the management of language-dependent graphics that are relevant for the translation process.

Outsourcing time-consuming publication processes

The current TCToolbox version has an optionally available publication server that allows you to outsource and perform complex publication processes asynchronously. To this end, editors initiate publications in TCToolbox before the publication server generates them automatically. Various configuration and control options make the publication server a powerful tool for users who need to manage large amounts of publications. The current version additionally supports load distribution among various servers.
