09.03.09, Ovidius presents TCToolbox with TopLeaf link-up
Ovidius GmbH, headquartered in Berlin, presents for the very first time the integration of its XML based TCToolbox with the TopLeaf publication system at the tekom Spring conference (April 2-3, 2009) at the "Westfalenhallen" convention centre in Dortmund. With the SGML/XML typesetting system by Australian manufacturer Turn-Key Systems, high-quality publications can be created fully automatically and at high speed. The direct link-up to TCToolbox now makes the automated updating of loose-leaf collections possible.
Many publishers, as well as various producers of industrial information (e.g., aviation authorities or airlines) publish their data in loose-leaf binders. Ovidius' TCToolbox includes XML-Differ − a tool that matches contents and XML structures and automatically tags the changes between two versions. These revision tags are interpreted by TopLeaf in order to determine whether the content of one page has changed vis-à-vis the previous version and if the latter has to be republished and delivered. Entirely revised deliverables can then be produced automatically.
According to requirements, users can publish just the replacement pages or the updated version of the entire release. lf a version is released for publication, TCToolbox makes any further revision impossible. This function results in revision protection and the longevity of the documentation created.
