Darwin Information Typing Architecture (DITA) is an XML-based concept describing both an architecture and a document type definition (DTD) and was designed specially for technical documentation.

DocBook is a document format defined in an XML- or SGML-based document type definition (DTD) and used primarily for creating books and articles. DocBook is maintained by the Organisation for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards (OASIS).
