A manufacturer that produces a product with 1000 variants has a big problem: Is he supposed to create and manage 1000 user manuals? One solution could be modularisation. A pool of general and product-specific modules could serve as a basis for assembling information units (components) into user manuals.

XMetaL 5.1 – What's new?

Just Systems have announced the latest version of XMetaL (version 5.1). By merging the former stand-alone editions XMetaL Author, XMetaL Author DITA Edition and XMetaL Author Enterprise Edition into one tool XMetaL Author now offers extended functionality. From version 5.1 on XMetaL Author will only be available as Enterprise Edition.
